Swati,
The Tomboy

When I was in school, my mother would keep my hair in a short crop, because it was just much easier to manage. And that contributed to who I was, in a way- a full tom-boy.

The first instances of wanting to dress up and look girly started happening when I touched adolescence. And with it, came a strong urge of wanting to grow my hair long. I would plead with my mother to let me grow it , but in vain. So through most of school, I ended up living with a short crop.

When I grew old enough to make my own decisions, I immediately started growing my hair out. Genetically, my family is blessed with good, healthy hair.   Once my hair grew out, thick, glossy and black, it was one of my best features.

Although I will still always be one of the boys, growing my hair out help me discover my feminine allure.
I now have waist length hair and I’m never going to cut it!
